Jessie Lee Johnson was born April 10, 1948 to Jessie Lee Johnson, Sr. and Earline (Addlee) George in Eagletown, Oklahoma.
Jessie attended Victory Elementary School in Eagletown and graduated from Eagletown High School in 1968. Jessie joined the St. Matthew Baptist Church in Eagletown and was baptized at the age of 15. Although Jessie was born with polio, he was a plumber and licensed welder by trade.
Jessie was preceded in death by his father Jessie Lee Johnson Sr.; his stepfather Willie B. Bates, Sr.; a son Jessie Lee Johnson III; and brother Freddie Lee Walker.
Jessie is survived by his mother Earline (Addlee) Bates of Shreveport, LA; five brothers, Willie B. Bates Jr. of Richmond, CA., Richard Bates of Vallejo, CA., Charles Bates of Seattle, WA., Henry Johnson and Carlos Bates of Shreveport, LA.; five sisters, Bobbie Bates and Jennetta Bates of Vallejo, CA., Renea Young of Richmond, CA., Marquita Bates and Alesia Washington of Shreveport, LA.; six children, Lynelle Gordon of Broken Bow, OK., Doris Holloway of DeKalb, TX., Tonya Johnson of Broken Bow, OK., Nadine Warner of Eagletown, OK., Jessie Johnson of Richmond, CA., and Alicia Johnson of Fresno, CA.; twelve grandchildren, one great grandchild and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements are set for Friday April 23, 2010 at 1 PM at the Nunley Funeral Home with Pastor J. H Scott officiating. Interment will follow at Eagletown Cemetery, Eagletown, Oklahoma.
