John Fisher, 66 of Golden, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born February 1, 1944 in Safford, AZ the son of Ben and Eunice (Morman) Fisher.
John was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Valliant and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked for several years for district three of McCurtain County. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Eunice Fisher and one great-nephew, Matthew Huffman.
He is survived by his wife, Verna Fisher of the home; his children and their spouses, Scott and Melody Fisher of Broken Bow, Darlene and Eddie Lane of Hugo, John and Magan Fisher of Broken Bow; six grandchildren, Christopher and Allison Fisher, Emily, Rachel and Matthew Lane, and a baby girl Brayliegh Fisher expected in June; siblings and their spouses, Virginia and Ray Gantt and family of Valliant, Darlene Fisher of Golden, Kenith and Sharon Fisher and family of Golden, and Sarah Fisher of Golden; several nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Trinity Baptist Church in Valliant, OK with interment to follow in the Watson Memorial Cemetery, Oak Hill. Bro. Otis Cayton, and Bro. Wes Kenney will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, Friday evening from 6-8 p.m.
